A rookie swimmer is someone who has never been on an organized swim team.
A rookie swimmer can also be a swimmer, who in special cases is recommended by a coach or a parent to participate in rookie camp. For safety purposes, it is required that children be “water-ready” the first day of Rookie Camp.
We expect your child to enter the water and swim one pool length without advancing on the lane rope and demonstrate a readiness to participate in a large group practice session.
At the end of rookie camp, coaches will notify the parents if their rookie swimmer cannot graduate to stroke camp in a private conversation.
